Identifying and Assessing Abnormalities in the Mouth, Face, and Neck
We work with referring dentists and physicians to examine and diagnose lesions, growths, and tissue changes affecting the mouth, face and neck.
Detecting Concerns Early for Better Outcomes
Oral pathology is the process of identifying abnormalities in the tissues of the mouth and surrounding structures. While many issues may be benign, early diagnosis can be important when evaluating growths, lesions, or changes in tissue colour or texture.
We assess concerns such as:
- White or red patches in the mouth
- Persistent sores or ulcers
- Lumps or swellings inside the cheeks, gums, or tongue
- Facial lesions that are enlarging, bleeding, or not healing
- Changes in oral tissue that do not heal within two weeks
- Discomfort or numbness in the lips, gums, or mouth
If your dentist has referred you for an evaluation, our team will conduct a visual exam and, if necessary, arrange for a biopsy to determine the cause of the concern.
Partnering with Primary Providers for Diagnostic Clarity
Most patients are referred by their dentist, dental hygienist, or physician after a suspicious finding during a routine exam. Our role is to investigate, confirm or rule out pathology, and support appropriate next steps.
We work with a network of pathology laboratories to ensure timely testing and communication of results.
