FOR PATIENTS WITH EXTENSIVE UPPER JAW BONE LOSS

Supporting Full-Arch Implant Solutions Without Grafting

In some cases, bone in the upper jaw may be too thin or resorbed to support regular dental implants—even with grafting. Zygomatic implants offer an alternative by anchoring into the cheekbone (zygoma), which is denser and more stable.

This option may reduce the need for sinus lifts or extensive bone grafting, and can help patients access full-arch implant treatment when traditional approaches aren’t possible.

Placement of Longer Implants Into the Zygomatic Bone

Zygomatic implants are longer than standard implants and placed at an angle to reach the cheekbone. The procedure is performed under sedation or general anesthesia and typically includes:

  • Diagnostic imaging and 3D treatment planning
  • Placement of two or more zygomatic implants, sometimes combined with regular implants
  • Coordination with your restorative dentist for full-arch tooth replacement

Healing time and restoration timelines will vary depending on your case.

Zygomatic Implants May Be Considered If You:

  • Have experienced severe bone loss in the upper jaw

  • Are not a candidate for conventional implants or grafting

  • Are seeking a fixed alternative to full dentures

  • Have been referred by a dentist or prosthodontist for full-arch rehabilitation
